Optimized FOPID Controller for Transient Stability Improvement in a Microgrid with Energy Storage

Recently, Direct current (DC) microgrids have gained immense popularity due to their dependable and efficient framework, as well high transmission efficiency low electric power conversion. However, the non-linear nature of Renewable Energy Sources (RESs), increased presence electronic devices sudden load changes leads onset stability issues in DC microgrid. Thereby, a microgrid structure including Photovoltaics (PV) system, Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Conversion System (WECS) Storage (ESS) with suitable control approaches is proposed aim enhancing voltage stability. Here, higher order Boost converter employed Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) assisted Fractional Order Proportional Integral Derivative (FOPID) controller for stabilizing PV output. The DFIG-based WECS interfaced bus using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Rectifier, which turn controlled (PI) Controller. ESS, optimizes flow microgrid, comprises battery an Isolated Bidirectional Converter (BDC). generated from both supplied utility grid via three-phase Voltage Source Inverter(3 φ VSI), while synchronization achieved PI controller. simulated MATLAB ascertain its performance, excellent 98.4% observed.
